MedOne and Tirat Carmel Launch Data Center Technology Incubator

A first of its kind technology incubator, in the field of data center, has launched in Tirat Carmel, inviting entrepreneurs and startups to participate. Applicant qualifications include having a product ready to be launched with a first customer, as well as companies with relevant technological solutions.

The incubator is a collaboration between MedOne Data Centers, the IT HUB innovation center of Tirat Carmel municipality, and Sarona Partners investment fund. The incubator will be managed by Tal Catran, who has already managed 22 technological incubators, 10 of them in Israel.

The program will focus on implementing the following technologies: energy conservation and savings, cyber security, physical security of the data center complex, disposal and reuse of heat, autonomous robotics in the data center complex, utilization of limited infrastructure space and computing and information storage. The participants will receive a support package that will include preparation for a pilot, technological implementation of the solution at MedOne’s Data Center facility in Tirat Carmel, assessments for raising capital, international networking and more.

“The global data center market is one of the fastest growing markets in recent years,” explained Ronnie Sadeh, CEO of MedOne, “Global data shows that the data center market revenues in the world are expected to reach approximately $340 billion by the end of 2024. The revenues are expected to show an annual growth rate of 6.6%, which will result in a market volume of $439 billion by 2028. For these reasons, it’s clear to us that establishing a technology incubator that will develop technological solutions for this market will allow us to be at the forefront of technology.”

MedOne operates data center facilities in Tel Aviv, Petach Tikva, a campus in Tirat Carmel, and is currently building a new campus in Ramle and Kfar Yona with an investment of over one billion shekels. The new campus in Kfar Yona, which will be launched during 2026, will cover over 3 underground floors in an area of approximately 30,000 square meters and is designed to accommodate international and local companies.

“The incubator is a result of successful cooperation, a long-term vision and investment, with many good partners in the municipality of Tirat Carmel, the business community and the team of the Entrepreneurship Center,” added Naomi Aldes, Director of the Tirat Carmel Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship Center, Innovation Hub. “I expect that the incubator will attract entrepreneurs and ventures that will find the Tirat Carmel and the Entrepreneurship Center a magnet and a significant step in the success of their ventures. It will also help us in building an entrepreneurial, technological and business ecosystem, leading and successful on an international scale.”

MedOne’s customers today include financial companies, governmental offices, medical, high-tech and Israeli and global companies. The company was founded by the Livnat family and in July 2022 received a significant growth investment from the global investment company Berkshire Partners headquartered in Boston, USA and the van Rooyen Group, which acquired 49% stake.
