Israeli startup, Sightful, has now made its Spacetop laptop, boasting a 100-inch augmented reality (AR) display, available for retail purchase to all consumers.
Spacetop is the world’s first augmented reality laptop; a screen-less keyboard deck with customized AR glasses, which projects a virtual desktop into the user’s field of view. It operates through standard keys and a touchpad and also includes a camera for head movement tracking. The device runs on a custom operating system, Spacetop OS.
Now, its available for anyone, priced at a cool $2,150. Orders can be placed online here.
The laptop comes with unique features, like Spacetop Live Stream, for real-time collaboration, and an expanded suite of native web apps. Moreover, its travel motion tracking feature emphasizes mobility, a nod to the growing trend of remote and on-the-go work lifestyles.
Coincidentally, Apple’s Vision Pro was announced to be released next month, priced steeply at $3,499.
Sightful, led by CEO Tamir Berliner, is indeed well capitalized. They raised $33 million last year, with $61 million in total funding. The product now hits the market, just three years after its establishment (relatively fast for a deep tech startup).
