Lychee, a fast-growing short-form video editing startup, has been acquired by Fame, a leading B2B podcast agency. Fame will leverage Lychee’s AI-powered video editing technology to enhance its podcast production and video distribution services. The acquisition will enable Fame to scale its content offering for both new and existing clients.
Founded by Tomer Dean, Ran Alter and Peleg Aran, the four-person startup evolved through multiple pivots. Initially built as a simulcasting tool, the company shifted to audio-to-video generation and eventually landed on a productized service specializing in short-form podcast clips. The startup raised seed funding with participation from notable investors, including Fusion LA Accelerator, Tal Lev-Ami, Ido Dotan, and Shaul Olmert.
Over the past three years, Lychee’s hybrid AI-human model has produced more than 10,000 clips, some reaching over 1 million views. The startup served over 50 clients, including companies such as Zendesk, MorningBrew, 20VC, Lightspeed, and notably Shaquille O’Neal. This success attracted Fame’s interest as the agency sought to expand its video distribution capabilities.
Dean, Atler and Aran collaborated with Fame’s CEO Tom Hunt during what they dubbed a “48-hour M&A hackathon” in London. The teams completed due diligence, legal agreements, and initiated wire transfers within two days.
Post-acquisition, Tom Hunt will lead Lychee’s operations, ensuring continuity and focusing on refining production workflows to enhance speed and quality. Lychee will continue to provide high-quality podcast clips at competitive prices with no disruption to existing services.
Fame, a globally distributed team across 16 countries, specializes in launching and scaling B2B podcasts.
The integration of Lychee’s technology aligns with Fame’s vision to become the world’s leading B2B podcast agency by delivering comprehensive audio and video solutions at scale.
