BuildCheck Raises $5.9M for Plan Review

In December 2025, the construction AI platform BuildCheck emerged from stealth with $5.9 million in Seed funding. The round was led by Uncork Capital, with participation from Peterson Ventures and Xfund.

The company is led by CEO Alexander Michalatos, alongside co-founders Andrei Molchynsky and Alex Gureev. They aim to solve the costly “rework” problem in the construction industry caused by erroneous blueprints.

BuildCheck addresses the critical gap in the pre-construction phase: manual plan review. Its platform uses computer vision to analyze 2D construction drawings (architectural, structural, MEP), automatically detecting errors, omissions, and clashes before ground is broken. By acting as an automated “second pair of eyes,” BuildCheck helps general contractors and developers prevent expensive change orders and delays, claiming to deliver 10-35x ROI on project costs.

The new capital will be used to accelerate model development, expand the engineering team in San Francisco, and scale its solution to more enterprise general contractors.
