AI Startup c/side Raises $6M to Fortify Third Party Script Security

c/side, a cybersecurity startup focused on third-party script security, has raised $6 million in seed funding. Uncork Capital led the round, with Mantis VC, Scribble Ventures, Roar Ventures, and PrimeSet also participating. This brings c/side’s total funding to $7.7 million. Scribble and Roar Ventures also took part in the pre-seed round earlier this year.

Third-party script security is crucial because these scripts are vital for functions like analytics, chatbots, and error handling. However, they often change without the business knowing, creating significant security risks. High-profile breaches, like the one at British Airways, have shown how these poorly monitored scripts can allow malicious actors to steal information or alter website content. While attention is on securing infrastructure and open-source supply chains, the browser remains a vulnerable and often unprotected area.

c/side addresses this issue with its advanced proxy service and AI-driven detection engine. Their toolkit identifies and neutralizes malicious scripts in real-time. This solution boosts website security and also enhances performance and simplifies compliance with regulations like PCI DSS 4.0, making it essential for businesses that handle digital payments.

“Recent browser supply chain attacks show how quickly this threat is growing,” said Simon Wijckmans, CEO and founder of c/side. “Security and IT teams can’t take a ‘set it and forget it’ approach with third-party script security. Our solution offers ongoing visibility and protection, and we’re excited to have new investors on board.”

“c/side is tackling one of the most challenging threats in digital security,” said Andy McLoughlin, Managing Partner at Uncork Capital. “Their solution identifies and quickly neutralizes threats, ensuring strong client-side web security.”

With this seed funding, c/side plans to enhance its flagship product, develop its vulnerability detection engine further, and expand its team. The company’s free tier is already available, allowing any business to start securing their site in minutes. Business, Enterprise, and Partner tiers are in the pipeline.
