In November 2025, Baar, Switzerland-based Albatross raised $12.25 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by MMC Ventures, with participation from Redalpine and Daphni.
Founded by former Amazon AI leaders Dr. Kevin Kahn and Dr. Matteo Ruffini, along with Johan Boissard, Albatross is building foundational AI infrastructure for sequential embedding models trained on live user events.
The company positions its platform as the “second pillar of AI,” enabling real-time product discovery and personalized search by learning from user interactions as they happen, rather than relying on static rules or metadata.
The new capital will be used to fuel the team’s expansion, accelerate the development of its real-time sequential embedding models, and deepen its market reach across Europe.
