Mimic Robotics Raises $16M for AI Restaurant Robotics

In November 2025, Emeryville-based Mimic Robotics raised $16 million in a new funding round. The round saw participation from investors including SOSV and Alumni Ventures.

Founded by Armen Avetisov and S. K. “Sako” Avetisov, Mimic develops AI-powered robotic arms specifically designed for the Quick-Service Restaurant (QSR) industry to automate kitchen tasks.

The company’s flagship robot, MIRA, can automate complex cooking and plating tasks, such as deep frying and saucing, helping restaurants combat severe labor shortages and improve consistency.

The new capital will be used to accelerate the production and deployment of its robotic systems, expand its engineering team, and meet growing demand from major fast-food chains.
