ServiceNow Ventures Invests $5M in Global Employment Platform, Oyster

Oyster, the dedicated global employment platform helping companies hire, pay, and support remote teams worldwide, has raised an additional $5 million investment from ServiceNow Ventures. An extension of Oyster’s recent Series D round, total funding rose to $291 million. ServiceNow joins Indeed, LinkedIn, Okta, PayPal Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Slack Fund.

“For enterprises looking to expand efficiently and compliantly across borders, they need a trusted partner that simplifies the complexities of global hiring,” commented Victor Chang, vice president of ServiceNow Ventures, on the startup’s specialized approach.

By focusing exclusively on global employment needs, Oyster avoids spreading its resources across multiple HR segments, instead directing its full attention to solving these critical cross-border complexities. Through Oyster’s platform, companies access essential tools to create a sustainable, people-centric hiring strategy, while specialized customer support ensures that compliance and regulatory needs are met across diverse regions.

“Global employment is the future, and we’re grateful to ServiceNow for sharing in our belief that compliant, equitable employment practices can be the standard worldwide,” said Tony Jamous, co-founder and CEO of Oyster.

The startup offers flexible pricing. For contractors, pricing starts at $29 per contractor per month after a 30-day free trial, providing support for compliant contracts in over 180 countries and payments in over 140 currencies. Global payroll options begin at $25 per employee per month, allowing companies to manage payroll across multiple countries with payslip generation and HR integration. The Employer of Record service, designed for full-time employees, starts at $699 (monthly plan), enabling compliant hiring in +130 countries with fast onboarding and IP protection. For larger teams with five or more full-timers, the Scale plan offers custom pricing with benefits like discounted rates, reusable seats, and dedicated support.

Optional add-ons are available, including benefits packages, salary insights, visa sponsorship, and misclassification risk protection, to enhance global compliance and employee support.
