Pipe and GoCardless Partner to Expand Embedded Capital Solutions for UK Businesses

Pipe, the fintech company known for offering embedded financial tools to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), announced a new partnership with GoCardless, a leading bank payment platform. Through this collaboration, Pipe’s financing solution will now be integrated into the GoCardless platform, enabling SMEs across the UK to access fast, flexible capital.

The partnership aims to address key challenges that small businesses face, including cash flow disruptions caused by late payments, which affect more than half of UK businesses. By embedding financing tools directly into GoCardless’s payment infrastructure, Pipe empowers business owners to secure working capital within minutes, without traditional credit checks or underwriting processes. This integration offers businesses immediate access to funds, helping them grow and manage cash flow efficiently.

After a successful pilot program in the UK, where Pipe observed attachment rates double the industry benchmarks, the companies agreed to formalize the partnership for a full-scale rollout. Pipe’s solution—designed to offer capital without personal guarantees—has proven especially valuable for micro-businesses and underrepresented founders who often face barriers when seeking funding through conventional means.

“Our collaboration with GoCardless is a game-changer for SMEs in the UK,” said Luke Voiles, CEO of Pipe. “By making capital accessible where businesses already operate, we’re simplifying financial access and enabling entrepreneurs to focus on growth rather than managing complex funding applications.”

The pilot program with GoCardless advanced nearly £7 million to participating customers, achieving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 88—a strong indicator of customer satisfaction. Business owners report that Pipe’s embedded financial tools feel more like a partnership than traditional lending. Sam Brooksworth, CEO of Remoteli, shared, “Pipe’s financing options gave us the support we needed to take our business to the next level, without the stress of feeling indebted.”

The new financing tool will officially launch in 2025, with GoCardless aiming to further enhance its customer offering through seamless access to capital.

“Our goal is to help businesses thrive by simplifying payments and access to financing,” said Jolawn Victor, Chief Growth Officer at GoCardless. “This partnership allows us to offer customers the financial flexibility they need to unlock new opportunities for growth.”
