Wobby Secures $1.2M in Seed Funding to Revolutionize Knowledge Work with AI

Antwerp, Belgium – October 30, 2024

Antwerp-based startup Wobby, an AI-powered platform designed to simplify information processing for knowledge workers, has raised $1.2 million (€1.1 million) in a seed funding round. The investment, backed by Shaping Impact Group’s SI3 fund, V-Ventures, and imec.istart, will enable Wobby to expand its market reach into Europe and launch commercial activities in the United States.

Tackling Information Overload with AI

Founded in 2023 by former journalists Amra Dorjbayar and Nathan Tetroashvili, Wobby aims to combat misinformation and simplify data handling for professionals. The platform integrates multiple knowledge tools, enabling journalists, analysts, and consultants to streamline research, analysis, and content creation.

CEO Amra Dorjbayar explained, “Knowledge workers today face an overload of information and tools, making it increasingly difficult to find credible sources and organize their work effectively. Wobby resolves this by centralizing essential knowledge functions into a single, user-friendly platform.”

Key Features and Impact

Enhanced Efficiency: Wobby’s platform reduces research and analysis time by up to 75%, freeing users to focus on strategy and decision-making.

Broad Application: Journalists can quickly access statistics, analysts can generate climate insights, and consultants can compile comprehensive reports—all with minimal effort.

Global Reach: Already supporting 12 major clients, including Roularta and Belga, Wobby has pilot users in the UK and active test users across 73 countries.

Capital Allocation

The newly raised funds will be used to:

• Expand operations across European markets.

• Launch the platform commercially in the U.S.

• Accelerate platform development with advanced AI capabilities.

CTO Nathan Tetroashvili highlighted the platform’s cross-sector potential, stating, “Wobby’s tools empower professionals from journalism to policy-making and business analysis, fostering better decision-making across industries.”

Support from Strategic Investors

Selim Vanbecelaere of Shaping Impact Group emphasized the platform’s mission to democratize reliable information, saying, “Wobby’s innovative approach aligns perfectly with our values, providing transformative tools to combat misinformation and enhance knowledge work globally.”

Lot Carlier of V-Ventures added, “Wobby’s growth and vision reinforce our confidence in their ability to shape the future of knowledge work.”

Future Goals

By the end of 2025, Wobby aims to generate $2 million in annual revenue and strengthen its foothold in the global market. With its dedication to accuracy, transparency, and innovation, Wobby is set to redefine knowledge work in the digital age.
