Reco Secures $55M to Expand AI Agent Security

Reco secured $55M in a Strategic Round led by AT&T Ventures to expand its AI agent security business.

Ofer Klein, CEO and co-founder of Reco

The big picture: Reco has raised an additional $55 million to expand its AI agent security business. AT&T Ventures joined as a strategic investor alongside new investors Forestay and Quadrille Capital. The financing brings Reco’s total funding to $140 million. The company plans to use the new capital to expand sales, partnerships, channel operations, and customer support as large enterprises deploy more autonomous and AI-enabled agents across business applications and workflows. Reco‘s platform maps relationships across agents, human identities, applications, permissions, data, and workflows to provide security teams with context around access and potential exposure.

Why it matters:

  • Rapid Adoption: Enterprises are quickly deploying AI agents, with Gartner projecting Fortune 500 companies could use over 150,000 agents by 2028, creating a vast new attack surface that traditional security models struggle to address.
  • Complex Risks: AI agents increasingly connect to business systems through various protocols like OAuth grants, APIs, and browser sessions, creating interconnected privileges that expand the potential impact of misconfigurations or compromises.
  • Market Growth: The global agentic AI security market is projected to grow significantly, from $1.3 billion in 2025 to $17.8 billion by 2033, driven by the critical need to secure these new machine actors alongside human users.

How it works:

  • Relationship Mapping: Reco’s platform uses an underlying ‘Reco Graph’ to map connections between agents, human identities, applications, permissions, data, and workflows across an organization, providing a comprehensive view of access.
  • Risk Assessment: The system allows security teams to discover AI agents and AI-enabled applications, assess their risk based on access and business context, and identify where a compromised or improperly configured agent could create broader exposure.
  • Targeted Remediation: Reco enables security teams to take actions such as reducing excessive permissions, removing outdated access, or disabling risky integrations without broadly blocking AI adoption, integrating with hundreds of AI providers and enterprise applications.

The catch: The nascent AI agent security market is rapidly evolving, with new threats and attack vectors emerging as agent capabilities advance. Reco must continuously adapt its platform to keep pace with these developments and differentiate itself in an increasingly crowded cybersecurity landscape. While enabling AI adoption is a strong selling point, convincing enterprises to invest in a new security category specifically for agents, rather than extending existing identity and access management solutions, may present a challenge.
