Menos AI Raises $5.1M to Build Institutional AI Infrastructure

Menos AI raised $5.1M Pre-Series A led by Copper Sky Capital to build an AI-native context layer for institutional investors.

Menos AI raises $5.1M

The big picture: Menos AI, an AI-native platform for institutional investors, has raised a new $5.1 million Pre-Series A financing round. The round was led by returning investor Copper Sky Capital, with participation from Alpha Square Group, bringing the company’s total funding to over $10 million. Jack Selby, Managing Director at Thiel Capital, led the investment for Copper Sky. Menos AI has expanded its offering into enterprise AI infrastructure since launching its Sonαr research agent in August 2025, working with some of the world’s largest asset managers and hedge funds. Why it matters:

  • Judgment Gap: As AI models become commoditized, the core differentiator for financial firms is their unique judgment, which is often unwritten, difficult to transfer, and scattered across systems.
  • Knowledge Silos: Proprietary research, portfolio data, and investment reasoning frequently reside in people’s heads or disparate systems, preventing colleagues and AI agents from building upon this institutional knowledge.
  • Capacity Constraints: Asset managers face challenges in expanding investment and client service capacity without a proportional increase in operational costs.

How it works:

  • Context Layer: Menos AI provides a secure, private, and traceable context layer that captures and structures proprietary research, portfolio data, investment reasoning, and workflows.
  • Institutional Asset: This platform transforms fragmented judgment and knowledge into a reusable institutional asset, allowing firms to control and grow its value as teams and agents refine hypotheses.
  • AI Agent Enablement: The structured foundation empowers AI agents to automate research, reporting, and operations, enabling firms to scale their capabilities efficiently.

The catch: The institutional AI infrastructure market is becoming increasingly competitive, with both established financial technology providers and new AI startups vying for market share. Menos AI’s success hinges on its ability to demonstrate superior security, traceability, and integration capabilities compared to in-house solutions or offerings from larger, more entrenched vendors, especially as large asset managers may prefer to build proprietary systems.
