Kardi AI Secures €1.1M to Expand AI-Powered Heart Monitoring

In May 2025, Kardi AI, a Prague-based healthtech startup, has raised €1.1 million to advance its AI-driven cardiac monitoring solution. The funding round was led by BrightCap Ventures, with participation from DEPO Ventures, Garage Angels, Lumus Investment Collective, and a Czech angel investor.

Founded in 2022 by Tomáš Skála, Stephen Burke, Pavel Digaňa, and David Skala, Kardi AI offers a smart chest strap that combines real-time ECG measurements with proprietary AI algorithms to detect heart arrhythmias. This approach addresses the limitations of traditional 24-hour Holter monitors, which often miss intermittent arrhythmias.

The company plans to use the funds to expand into international markets, including Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, the UAE, and India. Additionally, Kardi AI is preparing clinical trials at university hospitals in Olomouc and Ostrava and collaborates with over 20 hospitals and approximately 130 cardiologists across the Czech Republic.
