Cognichip Raises $33M to Launch AI-Driven Chip Design Platform

In May 2025, Redwood City-based startup Cognichip emerged from stealth with $33 million in seed funding to develop its Artificial Chip Intelligence (ACI®) platform. The round was co-led by Lux Capital and Mayfield, with participation from FPV and Candou Ventures.

Founded by industry veteran Faraj Aalaei, Cognichip aims to revolutionize semiconductor design by integrating physics-informed AI models that emulate human-like reasoning. The ACI® platform is designed to reduce chip development costs by up to 75% and accelerate design cycles by 50%, addressing the increasing demand for efficient and scalable chip design solutions.
