Airwallex Raises $330M for Financial Infrastructure

In December 2025, global fintech platform Airwallex raised $330 million in a Series G funding round. The round was led by Addition, the venture firm founded by Lee Fixel, boosting the company’s valuation to approximately $8 billion.

The financing attracted a heavyweight roster of investors, including T. Rowe Price, Activant Capital, Lingotto (Exor’s investment arm), Robinhood Ventures, and TIAA Ventures. This mix of traditional financial giants and modern fintech investors underscores Airwallex’s position as a critical infrastructure player.

Founded by CEO Jack Zhang and President Lucy Liu, Airwallex will use the capital to aggressively expand in the US, establishing San Francisco as its dual global headquarters alongside Singapore. The company aims to capture the American enterprise market by offering a unified global platform for payments, treasury, and expense management.

The funding will also accelerate the development of its “AI Agents” strategy, leveraging its vast financial data to train intelligent models for automated financial operations.
